        Verdict

        ALBEN SPIRIT has started favourite in both runs but, though performing well enough, hasn't found a finishing burst. The easier conditions here should aid his cause and he can recoup losses as Good Earth has encountered soft ground twice and shown little on either occasion. Sam's Call was staying on over an extended 5f at York and looks certain to be suited by the extra but Vasari didn't go through with it over Sandown's stiff 5f last month, though looks the type to improve. Saracen Spirit was in touch for a long way over 7f at Thirsk and will have come on markedly for the run.
