Hotham and ARGANIL both have penalties to carry for their recent wins but the latter obliged with plenty in hand on what was his handicap debut at Beverley and Kevin Ryan's gelding is taken to follow up that success, getting the verdict ahead of Mr Wolf. David Barker's gelding will probably take the field along for much of the way but he tends not to find much late on his races and may be booked for a place at best again. Make My Dream continues to run well but may just be a shade high in the weights, while Barraland struggled off his new mark at Goodwood last time and now looks best watched. Mick Easterby's Lake Chini has been in good form of late but may prefer a softer surface, while Angle of Attack is another to consider on his recent form but may also be in the grip of the handicapper. Several of these come into this in good form but it is hard to get away from Arganil, who was good value for his win last time and he can win again.
