Several of these have shown some promise including Tim Pitt's Mary West, Bryan Smart's Striker Torres, who is bred to want soft ground and has shown a liking for it and Calligrapher, from the in-form Michael Jarvis stable but this may go to one of the newcomers with the verdict going to FILM SET. Godolphin's colt is a half-brother to the useful In The Fan, who himself was a winner over seven furlongs as a juvenile and he looks worth chancing first time out with the yard among the winners of late. Soviet Rhythm has run respectably in all three starts and has to be considered but George Moore's filly has only earned a rating of 68 so she faces no easy task. Micky Hammond's Avitus is a well bred newcomer but is probably best watched on his debut and of more interest may be Mark Johnston's newcomer City Bank, who is a half-brother to Profitability. The stable's two-year-olds are invariably better for their first start but they do have the occasional debut winner and he could be of interest. Paul Cole's Melange should come on for his first start but he needs to and it may be worth siding with Godolphin's runner Film Set.
