        In depth

        Verdict

        A big field for this maiden but the usual rules apply, i.e. watch the market and concentrate more on the yards that do well in this sphere. After doing so we will side with Farefield Lodge to get the better of Zonta Zitcala, with Extravagance and Julian Joachim others to consider. The selection pairs up trainer Clive Cox with jockey Philip Robinson and both are in decent form. Farefield Lodge ran a very good race in the context of this one when second at Salisbury over this trip last time. A repeat of that effort should see these off, and improvement would enhance his chances. Zonta Zitcala is a fillt with a serious chance too. She has run three good races in defeat and the drop back from 7f should not inconvenience. Extravagance has not been seen since a disappointing favourite at Lingfield last October, so she is perhaps best watched this time, while it would be no surprise to see newcomer Julian Joachim go very well and the market will give us plenty of clues there. Without that knowledge though we are happy to side with Farefield Lodge.
