        Verdict

        Hitchcock started odds-on for his debut at Newcastle in February but couldn't match the pace of Batten The Hatches, who hasn't run subsequently though the third has been well beaten. Undiscovered Angel made a very encouraging debut at Carlisle in September and was made favourite at Chester later in the month but missed the break and could never get involved. Wild Acclaim also made a reasonable start at Hamilton in June but didn't reappear until late November when he may not have acted on Tapeta. STAR CATCH hails from a yard in cracking form and could do with a victory for the paddocks. The form of her second to Comedy School at Haydock was given a boost when the winner followed up in a York nursery and that should be good enough for this.
