Dmitri's narrow defeat at York last week catches the eye and, with his stable in form, he can land this mile event. It's a good contest with Barzak, who will only run if there is rain at the track, heading the weights. He should strip fitter for his seasonal return and holds chances. That comment applies to a number of them, including the well-bred Shelini. She hails from the Michael Jarvis yard, won twice last year and comes into calculations, despite the lack of a previous run this season. Diamond Orchid, whose juvenile win came at Ponte, also reappears, has Kieren Fallon on board, but the form of her comfortable Hamilton win has not really worked out. San Antonio sprang a surprise at Doncaster last time and could well have more to come. Despite being dropped four pounds for two runs when his stable was out of form, Flight Fellow is still four pounds higher than for his Catterick success. Linby Lad's second to Avoidance at York last October reads very well and he has to be considered, while Riska King, highly regarded as a two-year-old, has certainly has given the impression of being on a good mark. Dual AW winner Surdoue has not fared as well back on turf. Polly Plunkett has been raised five pounds for a narrow Newcastle win, while Mark Johnston runs the lightly raced Miss Daisychain, although she need to improve on her juvenile efforts. Nevada Desert has been raised two pounds for defeat at Hamilton. As we say, a good little contest but Dmitri is the one they all have to catch.
