John Dunlop's youngsters are flying at present and Aamaaq looks the one to beat, with King's Head and Hill of Howth put forward as the ones to give him most to do. Aamaaq has been going the right way and ran another sound race in defeat behind the favourite Kilworth at Chepstow three weeks ago. That was his first try at a mile and this Derby entry should have the measure of his rivals today, with King's Head proving the best of them. Michael Jarvis has also seen an upturn in his fortunes over the past few weeks, and his colt, who was found wanting over seven furlongs when sent off as a hot favourite at Leicester, can also benefit from this extra furlong. He too is a Derby entry and will be seen to better effect over middle-distances next term. Hill of Howth is more exposed than most but hails from a stable that has had a terrific season with its juveniles already, so can figure somewhere along the line. Winds of Change only beat one home on her Warwick debut and is surely a lot better than that, but in any event she and the rest will struggle to contain Aamaaq who gets a solid vote.
