Shannon Springs can prove the answer here, with past winners of this event, Go Tech and Pagan Sky seen as the main stumbling blocks. Shannon Springs gained his second success of the year when scoring over 10 furlongs at Epsom just a fortnight ago, and as this would appear to be his optimum trip, the Barry Hills-trained three-year-old has major claims again off only a two-pound higher mark. He was rated on 100 when lining up fancied for the Chester Vase in May, and although connections have no worries about his stamina, it is interesting that they have entered him for the Cambridgeshire. He can take this en-route to a return trip to Newmarket. Go Tech won this 12 months ago off a rating of 75 but has managed just one subsequent victory since rising up the weights. Nevertheless, Tim Easterby's gelding must be feared along with Pagan Sky who captured this event two years ago. He too is nearly a stone higher these days but has been in fair form, and James Toller's stable always do well here. Torrens and Instructor give Richard Fahey a double-pronged attack and with their low weights, either could figure in the finish, but Shannon Springs has the class to see them all off.
