Indian Groom can step up on a promising debut at Thirsk by upsetting the likely favourite Dalhaan, while Cherokee Brave can reach the frame. Dalhaan has an outstanding chance on his excellent second to subsequent Royal Ascot runner-up Savarain, although he then disappointed at Leicester where the surface was not as quick. That had the look of a solid race-the second won on Thursday evening. He will enjoy the conditions here and is a major threat. Cherokee Brave stepped up considerably on a sole juvenile effort when chasing home the useful North Parade at Haydock. A longer trip would suit, though this stiff track will see him to good effect. Indian Groom hails from the Royal Ascot winning Howard Johnson yard, and he turned in a great performance to finish third in what looked a hot maiden by Thirsk standards. He was doing his best work at the finish, and this more testing track looks sure to suit. The fourth has won since and the second run well in defeat so the form looks strong. Indian Groom looks potentially very interesting and he is taken to improve for the experience and edge out Dalhaan.
