This is a wide open handicap in which Blackheath and Blue Maeve are sure to have their supporters but our narrow preference is for Kings College Boy. The selection ran well last time when finishing a close fourth behind Sir Nod at Beverley. He finished narrowly behind Paddywack that day but on these terms he should be capable of reversing the placings and he gets our tentative vote. Blue Maeve has enjoyed a purple patch but he has finished third on each of his last two starts and this suspicion is that the handicapper may now just have his measure. Blackheath has an obvious chance based on his recent second behind Ptarmigan Ridge at Ayr and he will not be far away at the finish. Winthorpe would have claims on his best form and he looks a really solid each-way bet, but for the winner we will return to Kings College Boy.
