Bacall is a tough one to assess on limited evidence, having scraped home in a Fibresand maiden during the winter before staying on late on reappearance after missing the break. She's one to note. Many of her opponents are struggling for form in the current campaign, including GOLDEN SPUN. The course and distance winner has beaten just two of 31 rivals home in three races since joining David O'Meara but if he can rediscover the form of his juvenile days when inching out Russian Heroine here and finishing a solid third to the very useful Twilight Son at Thirsk, he'd be well treated off a mark of 75. He's a speculative choice. Michael Dods has two chances with recent winner Aprovado and course and distance winner, Ocean Sheridan. The former stuck on well to land the spoils the last day but the latter, a tad below par last time but otherwise consistent, makes more appeal as an each-way option.
