Verdict

Micky Hammond is the only northern trainer to stand his ground against the southern invasion but Only Orsenfoolsies looks up against it, although prize money is assured. Nancy From Nairobi hasn't scaled the heights of those rated over 100, of which Red Galileo performed in the most exalted company last season when finishing fifth of 16 behind Australia in the Derby. His only victory has arrived at long odds-on in his juvenile days and he seems a horse falling between a few stools at present. Gatewood ended last season by finishing in mid-division in the Melbourne Cup but posted three successes during the season en route to Down Under, all of which came on ground with plenty of juice. He'll have needed his reappearance run but CONNECTICUT was a major improver last term under the patient tutelage of Luca Cumani. He definitely has the scope to improve further and should make up into a Group horse. Hopefully, he'll be straight enough to oblige here on his seasonal reappearance.
