Verdict

LUC JORDAN and Kaolak both ran in better races last time and could be set to dominate, with preference for the former. Luca Cumani is a master at getting the best out of his handicappers and this four-year-old should have more races in him off this mark of 87. After a disappointing run at Chester which is best forgiven, he ran third behind Royal Ascot hope Submariner at Kempton last time. His mark hasn't been changed on the back of that run and is only 6lbs above his last win and as he ran well on quick ground in maiden company we're hopeful conditions won't prove a barrier to success. Kaolak was behind Joburg at Sandown last time and that form looks strong, with the second horse appealing as well handicapper too. John Ryan's charge made the running that day and similar tactics will make him hard to pass on the climb to the line although he has to conclusively prove he stays and that sees us give Luc Jordan the vote in what could boil down to a match. Follow The Flag seems still to be improving and ran a great race in the Zetland last time so can't be totally ignored but he may need a bit of assistance from the handicapper; he holds Changing The Guard on that run although the latter probably has the more scope for improvement and has won over the distance before off this mark. Profit's Reality looks handicapped out of winning although he can make the running and has won over further so could sneak a place, Arizona John has his ground but may not get home here and Bazergan, for whom the stiff finish holds no fears, hasn't showed much this term and looks lies the doldrums. This isn't the most competitive race and it affords Luc Jordan a great chance to gain his first success of 2010.
