Nobody rides this track better than Kieren Fallon and, although he may be giving away temporary custody of the jockeys title, he is the man to side with here aboard Monkey Madge, who is a confident nomination to get the better of Doitforreel. Not many of the rest have shown much of note so far, although Lady Hopeful and Twice Nightly have passed on glimpses of ability and are worth monitoring for each-way support, while Ming Vase has experience of the track buts needs to find improvement from somewhere. Doitforreel was flattered to finish so close to Arabian Dancer at Bath last month and her proximity owes more to a canny ride from Frannie Norton than it does to her own ability. Even so, it is a little harsh to say that she cannot be a leading player in this company and she should be thereabouts at the finish once more. Still, like the majority of the field, she is vulnerable to an unexposed type and will do well to hold off Monkey Madge if she has progressed since her debut run in mid-September. The daughter of Cape Cross has created the impression that she is more than capable of winning a race of this nature and, with Fallon doing the steering, Monkey Madge will be given every assistance as she bids to boost her paddocks value at only the second time of asking.
