Honor Rouge had been most progressive prior to a disappointing effort at Goodwood last time, where she failed to reproduce anything like her best in a a larger field. She is set to race off a mark that is 15lb higher than when winning over 10 furlongs here back in June and despite being unexposed at the trip, she does have a little to prove. Royal Cavalier also looks to be in the grip of the handicapper and it would be splendid effort from him if he could prevail from his current mark. Virgin Soldier is a consistent sort and he comes in the race in decent form. He is as tough as they come and is sure to give his supporters a run for their money. However, Dance In The Day, Mumbling and Vicious Prince have fewer miles on the clock - with the last named open to the most improvement. The Richard Whittaker-trained three-year-old showed great determination in taking a four-runner contest at Ripon last time; and he is just favoured for the TEAMtalk vote on the assumption that he has more to offer at this trip.
