Magical Effect won over course and distance last year off a much higher mark but seems best over 7f nowadays and was flattered by his margin of victory at Catterick nine days ago. Round The Island has also won at Catterick this season and likes it here so goes on the shortlist but Dream Together was a disappointing favourite here last month when well behind Dandy Spirit. LEZARDRIEUX took advantage of a drop in class and a lenient mark to get back to winning ways at Catterick. This is a lot more competitive and he carries a penalty but that success will hopefully have restored confidence. Nearly A Gonna won twice at the start of the summer and is not out of this.
