Verdict

Dan Buoy is 3lb lower than when runner-up in this 12 months ago and Billy Cray takes off a further 3lb. He returns from a break but can't be ruled out today while Petella won over C&D last time and stays well, though she has a bit to find with Descaro on some pieces of form and David O'Meara's five-year-old has already won over a longer trip around here. Yarmouth winner Dr Finley was just beaten off his new mark at Folkestone next time, while Spruzzo will be staying on when others have cried enough. But this marathon trip could also suit the three-year-old HANDLES FOR FORKS, who can gain a belated first success. Given too much ground to make up over 2m at Goodwood last month, she would surely have got off the mark over 1m5f at Bath last time had she got a clear run and deserves a change of luck.
