Dawaar, a beaten favourite last time and well drawn in stall one, bids to stave off the challenges of Green In Blue and Mark Johnston's newcomer Love Connection, and may just be up to the task. Dawaar led for quite a while on his Newmarket debut and on the strength of that effort, was sent off favourite at Kempton. The Michael Jarvis inmate could only finish fourth to Glimmer Of Light, looking for all the world as though already needing the extra trip that his pedigree on the dam's side suggests that he needs. Connections have taken the hint and Dawaar's experience should help him to beat Green In Blue, an encouraging third to the long odds-on Illustrator at Windsor. An expensive yearling, he too will appreciate the trip and should make a bold bid for the placings. Given Mark Johnston's record with his newcomers, Love Connection would not be a surprise winner, but the gelded son of Entrepeneur is not one of the leading lights at Middleham so maybe best watched, while any moves in the market for Barry Hills' Sight Screen who reappears after a long absence could prove significant. However, it is Dawaar who interests us the most.
