If Hurricane Floyd reproduces his Royal Ascot form then he will be very difficult to beat with True Night, Bond Diamond and What A Dancer looking his most likely dangers. The selection ran a excellent race from a bad draw in the Buckingham Palace Handicap where he 'won' the race on his side. Group class as a juvenile, Hurricane Floyd looks ready to land a valuable handicap and can do so here with Kieren Fallon booked. A couple of lengths behind him that day at Ascot was Bond Diamond. His effort that day was his best to date and he would only need to improve marginally to get on terms with the selection. The biggest danger to Hurricane Floyd could however be True Night who finished third in this race last year and showed his well being with a fine run at Redcar recently over an inadequate six furlongs. This stiff mile looks sure to suit and he should be able to at least run into a place once again. An outsider to consider could be French Horn who finished fourth in this race last season and runs here off a twelve pound lower mark. Slightly disappointing last time out he ran well on the Rowley Mile course a few weeks earlier and if the money is down from the Mick Ryan yard then he looks sure to go well. The Alan Swinbank yard is in fine form at present and there is no reason why his What-A-Dancer should not go well for Kevin Darley. A creditable third last time out he has been laid out for this race and would have the beating of all of these on the best of his consistent form. Campaigned mainly at seven furlongs he is passed over as the selection due to his stamina doubts, leaving Hurricane Floyd as a confident selection to get punters off to a winning start at the July Meeting at Newmarket.
