held up, pushed along over 3f out, ridden over 1f out, stayed on same pace final furlong
in touch, effort over 2f out, no impression
behind, headway over 2f out, ridden and one pace final furlong
led, ridden, edged right and headed over 2f out, weakened final furlong
tracked leader, led over 2f out, headed over 1f out, stayed on to regain lead inside final furlong, kept on gamely
Awesome Love can put right a string of placed efforts, with Cartronageerhlad, Trew Class and Heversham all likely to figure in a close contest on paper. In fact, now that David Loder is starting to emerge from the doldrums, even Yaahomm cannot be ruled out entirely, but on the evidence so far, Awesome Love should make a bold bid to finally go one better than on his last three starts. Mark Johnston's colt tried to dominate proceedings at Beverley last time but found the favourite Swainsworld half a length too good at the finish. Although not guaranteed to stay the extra two furlongs here, he makes most appeal. Cartronageeraghlad was unlucky in running at Sandown last time and is not badly treated on his best form. Shane Kelly has won on him before and gets the leg up here. Trew Class won a maiden at Sandown and is open to improvement, and Heversham ran very well when touched off by The Prince at Yarmouth. All in all, it is a tight one to call, but Awesome Love gets the vote.
