Verdict

Some unexposed types from top yards lock horns in an interesting heat. The selection is WATERCOURSE representing Roger Varian who has done so well since taking over from Michael Jarvis at Newmarket. His charge has been brought along gradually and showed that he's one for the future when noted staying on pleasingly in a decent Nottingham maiden last time. He can step up here to deliver on this handicap debut. Seelo never looked like beating Census at Newbury but stuck on in taking fashion and seems sure to give a good account too. Mutayaser showed promise behind Club Oceanic at Goodwood but gives the impression he might not to totally straightforward whilst still rating shortlist material.
