If the ground is the most important thing in racing then TRUISM should probably be able to get the better of My Verse in this, while African Art can make a race of it. The last-named will act on the ground and races over his optimum trip. This may be competitive, but it is easier than a couple of races he has contested this term and he can get involved. My Verse may well go off favourite given that she is chasing a hat-trick following wins at Ripon and Sandown. Perhaps significantly, however, those successes came on good and good to soft ground, and although there is some fast ground form on her dam's side of the pedigree, there is a greater influence for good or slower and she may be vulnerable unless the rains come. If she is to be beaten then Truism looks the one. A fast ground winner over 7f at Goodwood, Amanda Perrett's gelding has gone close twice over this trip and on fast ground in the past month or so and h may be best placed to give his true running, which we hope will be good enough. Laudatory won twice over 7f on Kempton's Polytrack and barely gets a mile, so this stiff track may find him out, while Good Again is dropped back to a more realistic level after being out of her depth in higher class and can make her presence felt. She looks another danger, but Truism gets the nod.
