Verdict

In a trappy race, ORCHARD KING is taken to get the better of top weight Go Amwell and Rock Me. The last named comes here after a good win last time. However, it only looked a moderate affair and racing off an 8lb higher mark here, Rock Me looks vulnerable, though this dual purpose performer is consistent and can go well. Go Amwell was good enough on the Flat this summer to hit the frame at York, and although his recent efforts have looked one paced, with his rivals climbing the weights he may be capable of hitting the frame at a nice price. Orchard King has won two of his last four starts and carries a 7lb penalty here, after grabbing the race by the scruff of the neck from the third last at Huntingdon recently. He kept going all the way to the line there, and Orchard King can underline his preference for this quick ground and follow up.
