In depth

Verdict

Another modest contest with plenty of questionmarks about these. Belvento ran a lifeless race in a Hunter Chase a couple of weeks ago but this contest is so weak that he could be good enough to take this prize even at his advanced age. The Big Un was collared close home over three miles. They won't be going quickly here so there is every chance that he could stay the extra couple of furlongs. First Officer and Rolling Maul were extremely flattered by their finishing figures last time out and don't really strike as golden betting propositions on a busy Saturday afternoon. Snow Partridge looks the likely danger. Lavinia Taylor's representative ran as if something were amiss last time out but there is plenty of old form to suggest that he could feel back at home over this trip.
