Myson can make amends for a recent lapse, with Yvanovitch and Julies Boy expected to give him most to do. Myson opened his account over fences at Folkestone in January, but has since been put in his place at Huntingdon with a none-too impressive round of jumping. However, he was looking all over the winner at Fontwell last week when James Davies was knocked out of the saddle by a loose horse three out, and in this poor event, he should have no problems putting matters right. Yvanovitch opened his account in an equally moderate contest here in November but was tailed off when pulled up at Leicester last time. That does not inspire confidence and he has topweight to boot. Julies Boy landed a bit of a gamble in a heavy-ground Hereford contest in February but put in a shocker when sent off favourite at Taunton. The trainer was at a loss to explain that dismal effort, but maybe the eight-year-old did not like being taken on for the lead. In any event, he can hardly be considered a viable betting proposition. In a race in which bets are definitely to be kept on the small side, Myson is the pick of the bunch.
