Amble Forge is a tentative selection in the finale. Carly Bay and Wotchalike are forwarded as the main obstacles in the way. Wotchalike posted an improved effort last time out and, with that experience under his belt, he can go close on his return to Plumpton. He would not want any further rain, though. Carly Bay goes well at this course and, with the ground to her liking, she should not be underestimated. her solitary previous win came at this course and, having dropped to a handy mark, she can give the selection a hard time. However, Amble Forge is at the right end of the weights for a race of this nature and, as he is far less exposed, he gets the nod on this occasion.
