In depth

Verdict

There will be no Triple Crown winner this year after the controversial finish to the Kentucky Derby but Improbable passed the post in fourth at Churchill Downs with War Of Will around a length behind. Bob Baffert’s charge looks sure to go close again but finished behind Code Of Honor in the Derby which brings BOURBON WAR into the equation. Mark Henning’s colt was beaten less than a length by the latter in a Grade 2 at Gulfstream earlier and is taken to make up for the disappointment of missing the Kentucky Derby by landing this. Alwaysmining looks short enough in the betting given he’s beaten lesser rivals than these in a winning streak at Laurel and Owendale makes more appeal having got the better of Anothertwistafate at Keeneland last month. The progressive Warrior’s Charge has been supplemented for this but is another upped in class.
