Verdict
The Tim Vaughan runners are accorded respect but a chance is taken with SIERRA PEAK ahead of Paperchaser and Billyandi. The latter showed more than he has done for some time when refitted with a tongue strap and will benefit from being stepped back up in trip at a course where he has performed well in the past. Paperchaser won over course and distance on his penultimate start and ran a little better than the bare form of his run at Cartmel suggests; he's back up in trip and has leading claims. Burgess Hill has been given a break since disappointing at Plumpton and is one to note in the market as he makes his chase debut on his return to action whilst Shanahan is back up in trip having been held by a stablemate when a well backed favourite last time. The selection has had just the one start over fences and didn't fare too badly. That was just his second run for the yard since joining from Ireland so there may be more to come from him as he moves into the handicap ranks and Sierra Peak is taken to give weight away all round.
