In depth

Verdict

Quito Du Tresor would have outclassed these in his pomp and is still respected. He sports cheekpieces for the first time at the age of 12 and Tom Scudamore is an excellent booking. He now tends to reserve his best for Musselburgh though and NEFYN BAY is preferred. The gelding, another to wear first-time cheekpieces as well as a tongue tie, has taken well to fences, scoring at Wincanton and a close Stratford second last time. A soft ground winner over timber in early 2015, he should have more to offer over fences. Son Of My Heart is fascinating as he makes only a third start over fences at eleven. He shaped with some promise on his first run for Gordon Elliott here last month and will be a major danger if his top-notch handler can exact further improvement off an attractive mark.
