Mark Johnston has won this four times in the last ten years and has a quartet entered this time. Stars Over The Sea could prove the pick as he looked ideally suited to this trip and fast ground when scoring comfortably at Newbury though Fire Fighting ran very well from an 8lb higher mark in this last year. Second Wave comfortably landed a Wolverhampton handicap before an excellent second to Sir Isaac Newton in a Listed handicap at Royal Ascot while Shakopee looked one to follow when scoring at Doncaster though this is two grades higher. BALMORAL CASTLE has won eight races in his career, half of them on this track. He's been handed a 10lb rise for an impressive victory at Ascot in April but should be fresh and well for this and gets the nod. Ryan Moore is an interesting booking for Erik The Red as his mount has continued to perform with credit despite a huge rise for completing a hat-trick last summer.
