Thesme has been running consistently well at this level but is 11lb higher than her victory at York in August. Maljaa completed a hat-trick last summer and shot up the weights but he was only beaten just over a length in a very tough Ascot handicap last time. Bowson Fred, who finished just in front of him, is better off at the weights with his young rider's claim taken into consideration so Mick Easterby's charge looks to have a fair chance. Blithe Spirit has a 6lb penalty for Saturday's all-the-way Chester victory but Confessional likes the track and has won from higher marks. HAY CHEWED won a Listed contest in 2014 and had mainly been confined to Group company before just failing to hold Monsieur Joe at Newmarket. Conrad Allen's mare is taken to go one better.
