It could pay not to get too carried away with the three wins next to the name of Charlieadams. Although Len Lungo's veteran is clearly in great heart and loves the track here at Perth, he has never won beyond two miles and five furlongs and the likely favourite can be taken on in this small field. In a trappy looking contest, the William Amos-trained Extra Proud, beaten 28 lengths by Charlieadams last time, might be good enough to reverse those placings over this longer trip. Underfoot conditions will clearly suit the eight-year-old, who gives the impression that he will stay the full three miles off a slower pace here. If his jumping can be trusted then he should go close. Yankie Lord is the most likely of the quintet to genuinely get the trip. He is without a run since winning at Musselburgh in February, but if he comes here fit enough then he could expose any stamina doubts among his rivals, though he would prefer at least some cut in the ground. Another to consider is Prancing Blade. On the face of it, Nigel Twiston-Davies's gelding is another doubtful stayer, though he has to be respected from a yard who have a great record when they send their horses to the track.
