MCMURROUGH blotted his copybook when last seen but is fancied to get back on track with Mesbaah and Reland perhaps the dangers. Malcolm Jefferson has sent out a winner this month from just a handful of runners and his charge certainly sets the standard in this contest. He won his first two starts in bumpers before making the frame in a Grade 2 hurdle on his debut and is hard to oppose on that form. He was, however, beaten a long way on his final start so has a little to prove and he's unlikely to be a price. Reland didn't show all that much in a bumper on debut but he could well leave that run behind with his trainer's good record at this meeting a plus. Mesbaah was unfancied in the market but ran well enough to be well held in second at Sedgefield and may be able to improve sufficiently to get into the shake-up. Stuff Of Dreams showed ability in France and is worth a market check although Graham Lee opts to ride newcomer Middlemarch who has been a grand servant to connections on the level. The majority of these have plenty to prove though and it's hard to get away from McMurrough.
