In depth

Verdict

Viens Chercher was quickly outpaced by Beau Sancy at Kelso but was giving the progressive winner 11lb and will probably try and make all again here. Katgary appeared to handle the step up to 3m here last month with aplomb but was flattered by the winning distance and has been raised 7lb. ROYAL VILLAGE won a better race at Uttoxeter on his latest start. That was over 2m4f but he won over this trip over hurdles and his turn of foot could be decisive if the ground continues to dry out. Rainy City has become disappointing but Out Sam won the Cork Grand National in November, though would have preferred softer going.
