Verdict

Heaven Forfend, a superbly-bred son of Frankel, ran green on debut at Newbury but still found only a more-experienced rival too good. Two of the first four in that race ran in Tuesday’s Coventry Stakes but produced contrasting efforts. That said, Sir Michael Stoute’s colt is an almost certain improver and should go well. Pinatubo maintained his unbeaten record in the Woodcote at Epsom and should relish the extra furlong but Aidan O’Brien dominates the entries and three of his runners look smart prospects. Year Of The Tiger was a real eye-catcher under tender handling at the Curragh and Harpocrates followed up a debut second at Naas with a third in a Listed race at the same track but LOPE Y FERNANDEZ is the choice of Ryan Moore. A €900,000 yearling, he bolted up on his introduction over this trip at the Curragh when the best backed of his yard’s three runners and there looked to be plenty more in the locker.
