It’s not unknown for King’s Stand Stakes runners to be turned out again quickly in this and BLUE POINT (NAP) won Tuesday’s big sprint with some authority and without coming under maximum pressure. The Godolphin five-year-old has already won a Group 1 over 6f in Dubai this year and is a dual course and distance winner who was third in the Commonwealth Cup here in 2017 so he’s the one to beat again if fully recovered. City Light, Bound For Nowhere and the 2017 winner The Tin Man filled the places behind Merchant Navy in this last year and are all expected to play a part again – Wesley Ward’s entire may do best this time. Le Brivido is another making a swift reappearance having finished fifth in the Queen Anne Stakes on the opening day. He represents last year’s winning stable but has only run once over 6f in more than two years and was well beaten. Invincible Army is 2-2 this year and holds Yafta and Projection on York running. He’ll handle any give in the ground but Sands Of Mali has had his measure when they’ve met in the past.
