      Verdict

CRACKDELOUST gave notice of better to come when runner-up at Wetherby and was taking on much better class when falling when in the lead two out at Musselburgh. If none the worse, he could take some catching. Cancan has gradually improved since arriving from France and made a very encouraging handicap debut at Carlisle where she was narrowly beaten into third. Calliope, who was engaged in the 4.10 here yesterday, won here in August but is 10lb higher while Wor Verge's only victory in 26 starts came on heavy ground.
