In depth

Verdict

PRESENT CHIEF is the only distance winner in the line-up and will enjoy the conditions. He'll have come on a bundle for last month's Newbury run and gets the nod in a competitive handicap. Big Penny was only beaten a head at Catterick in February and won over 3m here in September while Steal A March has scored over 2m5f at Hereford and Exeter but his ability to see out this trip is unknown. Miss Honey Ryder stepped up to 3m for the first time at Taunton and stayed on well though this is tougher but Spirit Of Waterloo landed a shock victory over just short of this trip at Hereford before finding heavy ground against him at Warwick.
