In depth

Verdict

Just five runners in this novices' chase but, of the quintet, only Barr Head is likely to struggle. This trip may stretch Degas Art but he was a long way in front of Double Expresso when successful over 2m4f at Carlisle last month. Lord Redsgirth won a three-runner race over a shorter trip here last time and has won over 3m between the flags but could find the concession of 7lb to THELOBSTERCATCHER just beyond him. Tim Vaughan's grey has had his jumping problems in the past but finally seems to be getting the hang of things and Richard Johnson will probably try and make the most of his proven stamina in this.
