In depth

Verdict

Doc Row ran better here last month and Peter Monteith's gelding should appreciate the step up in trip but he may struggle to give weight away to NILE MOON, who is taken to continue winning ways and he gets the vote with Kells Castle rated the best of the rest. The selection has been good value for recent wins in novice handicaps at Kelso in his last two starts and he is taken to defy the 9lb rise for his most recent success. Sammy Spiderman has been running really well with three wins at Ayr since December but there is a suspicion that he may now be in the grip of the handicapper. Gordon Elliott's The Outlier has been given a chance by the handicapper and has to be considered off his current mark but he is hard to recommend after recent efforts, while Chris Grant's Ngong Hills disappointed at Carlisle last time and now seems best watched. Sotovik ran better at Carlisle last time and has claims if able to build on that effort, while Catch The Perk has dropped to a winning mark but is hard to recommend on recent form. Gordon Elliott's Kells Castle has shown improved form in his last two starts in the UK and has to be of interest off his light weight but preference is for Nile Moon, who is taken to continue winning ways.
