Follow On has rather harshly been raised 7lbs for his narrow success over Folk Tune at Hexham earlier this month and it may be worth taking a chance with HAWKWELL, who is preferred to Prince Balthasar. Gordon Elliott's gelding is only 6lbs higher than when scoring at Musselburgh in November on only his fourth start over hurdles and he should be spot on for this now following an outing in a charity sweepstake at Punchestown earlier this month so he has to be respected. Rathrockscourt has yet to win a race but ran well in defeat at Navan two outings ago and he has claims on that form. Teviot Lass ran better at Sedgefield last time but has harshly been raised 6lbs for that run and he now looks too high in the weights. He's A Hotshot looks the second best of Gordon Elliott's two runners behind Prince Balthasar and is hard to recommend in a race taken to go to Hawkwell. The Nicky Richards-trained gelding has been given a chance by the handicapper as he is now only 4lbs higher than when successful at Hexham two years ago. Lightly raced since then, the eight-year-old showed a return to form when a close up fourth behind Solway Sunset at Newcastle in March and any further improvement would see him hard to beat.
