Verdict

Gold Chain is a standing dish here having won on six occasions. She is on a career-high mark now but the 3m at Aintree last time was beyond her best. My Mo has won over 2m2f so this trip should be within his range. He’s been placed on the Flat since running well for third at Wetherby in April so could make a race of it with VERCINGETORIX (NAP). The latter is with his fifth trainer but is finally starting to fulfil early potential and bolted up at Hexham last month after an equally impressive win over 1m5f on the Flat at Ayr. Thorpe can’t get much lower in the weights but has become disappointing.
