In depth

Verdict

Russian Sky gets the vote in the novices' chase, with his main dangers reckoned to be Toulouse Express and Reseda. Russian Sky boasts the best form here, not least his second to Red Man here last time over 21 furlongs. He looks the one to beat today. Toulouse Express won from a mark of 93 over hurdles and, if he can replicate that level of form on his chasing debut, would have to be seriously considered. After showing early hurdling promise, Reseda has not really built on that but, in such a race and with first-time headgear on, he cannot be ruled out of a good run. This is not a strong race and at least Duke Of Stradone has shown jumping promise following on from even more promise in bumpers. Irish raider Just Like Magic has not shown too much, while Lost Property is at least bred for this game. Overall, though, Russian Sky gets a solid shout.
