CUIRASSIER DEMPIRE (NAP) stayed on dourly when only beaten half-a-length by a previous winner on his chasing debut and first run for Tom George at Southwell. He wouldn’t need to improve much on that to go one better here. David John was raised 4lb for winning at Worcester but was also making his chasing bow that day and may be open to improvement. Cooper's Friend has become very disappointing and Quick Brew is hard to catch right. Southwell winner Roman Numeral has run 16 times over this distance without success.
