Brian Rothwell's Sirgarfieldsobers is better than he showed on his reappearance and British debut at Pontrefract earlier this month but he would probably prefer a softer surface and a better bet looks to be SOHCAHTOA, who gets the vote ahead of Cygnet. Luca Cumani's gelding opened his account on his second start as a juvenile and made a pleasing start on his only outing last term when narrowly beaten behind Agilete in a Yarmouth handicap and he has every chance racing off a 3lb higher mark today. Henry Cecil's Sam Sharp has slipped to a decent mark but needs to improve on the form shown last term to take a hand in the finish. Mark Johnston's Perpetually has disappointed when favourite for both starts on the Polytrack this term but may do better now back on turf, while Tom Tate's Prince Of Johanne seems a shade high in the weights. Preference then is for Sohcahtoa, who represents the in-form Richard Hannon stable and he has solid claims racing off just a 3lb higher mark than when chasing home Irish Heartbeat at Doncaster last month.
