Stormy Channel will be all the rage here following a win at Brighton recently. He put up a useful performance that day and is open to more improvement though he still has to prove himself on a soft surface. Daimajin has shown he can handle cut and his victory last time out for Brian Meehan before moving to Brendan Powell's suggests he is up to winning this tricky handicap. He is the TEAMtalk selection. Start Over is an interesting candidate stepping up in trip. His performance last time out at York when a close up fifth in a much better race was set in a good time and the step up should be no problem. More worrying would be the slower surface. Kasamba has been running well of late and has soft ground form in the past. He is overdue a win and should start at a decent price for his unfashionable trainer. This race was chosen for In Xanadu in preference to an easier option in a maiden earlier in the day. That suggests stable confidence and a big run is expected from this horse with proven soft ground form. Cuddles is an in and out performer whose best run came on a similar surface to this at Newmarket 6 days ago. His trainer does well here so expect a big run. Cliquey has some useful form to his name but is unproven on soft ground so is overlooked here.
