It's been a while since Green Fortune displayed any sparkle and is best watched until doing so. The form of fellow three-year-old, Prince Ahwahnee hasn't really been franked of late and he may not represent any major value here. Wentworth Falls is sure to crop up sooner or later but he's very much a hold-up merchant who likes to come through horses and therefore there has to be a question mark as to whether this small field will suit. He may well prove good enough but SUMMERGHAND is more straightforward and has been far from disgraced on his last two starts off higher marks after scoring decisively at Doncaster and Haydock.
Summerghand (IRE) 13-2 (9-8) Held up behind, outpaced 2f out, stayed on into mid-division inside final furlong, never near leaders, 8th of 13, 6l behind Solar Flair (9-10) at Newcastle 6f hcp (2) pol in Jun.
Wentworth Falls 5-1 (9-12) Raced keenly, chased leaders, ridden to lead and edged right briefly inside final furlong, headed and lost 2nd towards finish, 3rd of 7, 3/4l behind Aljady (9-2) at Thirsk 6f hcp (3) gf in Jul.
Prince Ahwahnee 2-1fav (9-7) Held up last, ridden inside final 2f, headway between horses and strong run inside final furlong, just failed, 2nd of 5, shd behind Puds (9-4) at Windsor 5f hcp (3) gf in Jul.
Green Fortune 10-1 (9-0) Held up in rear, beaten over 2f out, 6th of 7, 8 1/4l behind Lord Riddiford (8-10) at Chelmsford City 5f hcp (3) pol in Jul.
Dragon Moon (USA) 11-8fav (9-8) Tracked leader, driven to lead inside final 2f, soon hard pressed, ridden and edged left inside final furlong, ran on, won at Lingfield 6f stks (5) gf in Jun beating Brexit Time (9-1) by 3/4l, 6 ran.
