In depth

Verdict

Take The Gold, Viva La Flag and Propaganda look the three to concentrate on in this contest and the vote is given to Take The Gold. The selection dead-heated on her debut in second behind Horseford Hill but the horse she dead-heated with Dar Es Salaam has since been out and won convincingly so that debut run looks a solid enough effort. She is sure to improve and if she handles the ground she will be hard to beat. Viva La Flag rates the main danger on her latest third behind Royal Secrets but that form has since been let down and she is taken on with this in mind. Propaganda ran with promise on her debut when third behind Mirin and is another that should fare better here. Midsummer Fun is a well-bred filly by Gone West and is another that could go well but she is bred to be suited by a faster surface. Take The Gold's debut has worked out well and we will nominate her to take the gold prize here.
