It is difficult to ignore the claims of Master Rooney here and Brian Smart's colt gets the vote ahead of Mattamia and Zuzu. The selection did extremely well on debut when running very green but getting going as the race wore on and he was doing his best work at the finish when eventually runner-up to Deadly Secret, who has since run well in Group 2 company. That is a strong endorsement of Mester Rooney's abilities and he gets the vote. Mattamia has had a couple of outings over the minimum trip and improved on his second run. The Makbul colt is now stepped up to this 6f and will be much better suited, so watch for him going close here. Zuzu made a pleasing debut at Haydock and will be better for that experience, so she can't be ruled out. Waahej clearly needed his debut and can come on for it, and the same goes for Mabait, who tries turf for the first time. An intriguing maiden then, and Master Rooney can come out on top.
