Verdict

Godolphin won the first running of this in 2009 and will be hoping for a repeat with the hugely expensive BURJ HATTA, who showed plenty of promise on his debut at Newmarket last June and is still engaged in the Derby. He's been injured but may still be good enough though Red Eyes, who is a half-brother to five winners, also made an encouraging start last year and should do well in his second season. Maali was going on strongly at the finish on his debut over a mile at Kempton and this should be his trip but Mashaaref was a big disappointment when heavily supported to make a winning start at Kempton in April and this Derby entry can surely do much better. Dervisher ran very green at Ripon and should have come on for the run while the Godolphin second string Covert Desire is one to keep an eye on for the future.
